1. Field Trip to the Laflèche Cave (Bilingual)
Spend an afternoon spelunking with Robert Barter in one of the largest caves in the Canadian Shield. The Lafleche Caves are a half hour drive from Ottawa in the Gatineau Hills of Quebec. The cave is very accessible but you will be required climb ladders and walk in tight spaces. The temperature of the cave is a constant 5°C year round. This is an excellent opportunity to go underground and learn about the deep Earth history of the region. The tour is sponsored by Mining Matters.

Please bring appropriate clothing, and good warm walking shoes. Do not forget that in early November, Ottawa could have snow.
2. Workshop Ottawa Underwater Part 2 Field Work(English Only)
This filed trip will leave at 1 :45 from room 227. You will have the chance of going close along the Ottawa River to see the flood plain. For more information, please visit the schedule for the description.
- Please dress warmly. Along the river it could be really cold.
