Presented at 2017 OAGEE Fall Conference from November 10th to November 11th, 2017
Boreal is a simulation that examines tree harvesting practices over two generations of tree growth. Practitioners use the simulation to harvest trees using current logging practices within a context of profitability, sustainability, and protecting the environment. Using a Map Simulation, the necessary harvesting infrastructure for clear, strip, or selective cutting, must be built before harvesting. While obtaining a wood supply for current and future use, other issues must be considered.
